THe best medicine

I love to laugh...I mean, who doesn't? It's invigorating and infectious (in a good way).

IMO our natural state is one of happiness and contentment...we laugh with ease and see the bright side of life. As little bitty bambinos fresh out of the womb, the majority of us lived in the present... a judgement-free zone of wonder as we experienced everything as it happened, 100% open to meeting each moment with joy and curiosity. We giggled, we dreamed, we played. It is only as we grew, that we downloaded programming that drew us away from prioritizing this natural state of being.

Often we can return to an alignment that feels good without extreme effort, as our body, mind, and spirit want to be in harmony. In my experience, it hasn't always been easy to get myself out of a funk, cool a frustration that I can't seem to stop chewing on, or if I'm feeling particularly blue...cancel my pity-party-table-for-1 reservation.

For these times, I rely on my LAUGHTER LIST.

I began this list in 2016, when I had moved out of Brooklyn and was sleeping on a friend's couch in Manhattan. I was pretty low emotionally and didn't know how to rise. At night, as to not disturb my friend and to have some sound fill the space, I would put on my headphones and turn on episodes of Frasier and let them play on my laptop as I fell asleep. Frasier has long been a favorite TV program of mine, and I wanted a show that felt comforting and familiar. This show also happens to be quite funny, and I found myself being rocked to sleep by my own laughter night after night.

While it may have been incremental at first, my own laughter multiplied upon itself, and soon, my funk faded and my smile returned. I haven't a single doubt that watching hilarious episode after hilarious episode brought me back. It seems a small thing, but because of how I related to the show, it was just what I needed. xx

If you have yet to pen your LAUGHTER LIST, I hope the my list below can provide inspiration and impetus to begin yours. And I would LOVE to read your entries if you care to share! Happy Listing, Lovelies!!!
